Domestic Flights
Domestic air travel can be a nightmare. If you do a little research, you can make your domestic flights more affordable while minimizing your stress. With heightened airport security and sold out flights, your visit to the airport doesn’t have to be such a headache. These important tips can improve the quality of any domestic flight. Use your air miles- When was the last time you used those air miles? With the various ways of earning air miles you should have enough for a round trip ticket anywhere in the US. Simply log-in to your online air miles account and verify, how many miles you have. It’s probably more than you think. Upgrade to Business or First Class- Domestic flights are generally pretty jam packed. If it is a long flight like Los Angeles to New York, it can sometimes be the longest 5 hours of your life. Being stuffed in a middle seat is probably a travelers nightmare. The seats don’t lean back more than a couple inches and you end up lying on someone elses lap when you do decide to lean back a bit. This is an opportune time to upgrade using your air miles. Business class and first class don’t require a lot of miles to upgrade and the quality of the flight improves tenfold. |

Book Online- The days of storefront travel agencies is nearing an end. It used to be a common site to see a travel agency a few times within a 10 mile radius of your house. Now, you would be hard pressed to find one within a 50 mile radius of your home. Many airlines offer bonus miles and discounts, simply for booking online. Not to mention, you can check-in online and print your e-ticket directly from your desktop. Arrive early- With intensified air security you should always arrive to the airport, at least an hour before your departure time. IF you are traveling during a holiday, it is best to arrive at least 2 hours before your departure time in order to ensure you do not miss your flight. Dress Casual- If you can wear sweat pants and slippers, this is the best way to travel. When entering the security gate, you will not need to remove belts and lace up shoes, which can truly be a hassle. Simply throw your carry-on baggage through the security conveyor, slip off your slippers and walk through the detector. Once you’re clear, you can slip on your slippers, grab your bag and get moving. |
