Flight Club

Flight Club

A flight club is one that offers flyers opportunities to participate in flying. Usually training is provided by these clubs as well, along with aircraft rental.

There are essentially two different types of flying clubs that flyers can join. Some of these flying clubs are equity flying clubs while others are non-equity flying clubs. In the equity club the members of the club share ownership of each airplane in the club and they pay monthly dues for maintenance of those planes. A monthly fee is charged to use these planes as well.

There are quite a number of American flying clubs out there, including the Detroit Flight Club in Michigan, and several that are located in Florida, Ohio, and quite a few other states in the United States. Flying clubs are located in other cities around the world as well, such as Voronezh, Russia, and in various locations on the continent of Asia.

For the more risqué flyer there is also what is called a “mile high flight club”, which involves sexual activity in the air. However, the phrase “mile high club” also could mean general aviation clubs as well-with no hanky-panky involved. It is up to each person to differentiate for one self which each aviation club entails.

Those who want to learn more about the flying clubs above as well as about ones in the New York State area can view a variety of flight club resources. Individual flight club websites are presented on the World Wide Web which reference one or more flying clubs. Some of these flight club sites cover in detail what services that particular flight club offers.

Some flight clubs offer night flight training as well. One club that participates in night flying is the Palo Alto flying club that is located in California. The official name of this club is called the Stanford Flying Club. Those who participate in this club will enjoy flying at all hours of the day-including at night.

The types of services that each flight club offers will vary. Some of those services include an official flight club magazine membership, flying opportunities, flight training, the use of a plane, and plan operation tips. Conventions are also sponsored by many official flight clubs.
