Flight delays
Flight delays can be extremely frustrating, stressful, and can downright make people mad. This article explains a little of what happens during such a time, and how airlines make up for such a situation. Flight delays occur for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is because of the weather, or because one of the pilots is ill and needs someone else to take over. There also have been instances during which flight delays have taken place because of runway construction (Atlanta Airport, for example). High winds have caused flight delays at times as well in certain locations. Quite a few major airlines have experienced flight delays. For example, certain Alaska airlines, as well as Delta and American Airlines have all experienced times when flights do not arrive or leave at the time they are meant to do so. Flight delays in Florida have occurred, as well as at O’Hare Airport. For that reason, flight delays and cancellation search tools are provided on many airline and travel tracking sites. These search tools make it possible for those who need to be somewhere at a certain time to know whether or not their planes will be on time. Whatever the reason is for a flight delay it is usually covered by flight insurance. Flight delay compensation is provided in part or in whole to customers who have purchased a Ticket for which a flight will not arrive to its destination on time, or will not arrive at all. |

There are times when flights are even cancelled, because too many tickets have been sold for that particular flight-which usually is an honest mistake. Nevertheless, passengers are compensated when this happens, according to the length of time that their flight would have taken. It is important for passengers to be prepared as well in case of a flight emergency. Airport flight delays happen from time to time, and passengers are advised to keep their families and friends posted, in case they are waiting for a ride. It is also recommended that persons flying a plane-or attempting to fly a plane-make sure they bring along some materials to read, crafts to work on, or work projects to complete. This will help them keep their minds off of the delayed flight. Passengers are also advised to give themselves plenty of time to reach their destinations. This is perhaps the most important of all preparations that a passenger can make. |
