NEW HAVEN, CT — The new owners of Sally’s Apizza have been revealed as hospitality investment group Lineage Hospitality.
The Consiglio family owned the famous pizzeria since 1938. A spokesman for then new owners said that recipes will remain the same and members of the Consiglio family will still help at the pizza shop.
"My family has spent a lifetime building Sally’s into a strong restaurant business, and we look forward to seeing our pizza being brought to many more people," says Bobby Consiglio, son of Sal Consiglio, who founded the restaurant 80 years ago. "We are very excited to bring a passionate investor group like Lineage Hospitality on board and help them share the Sally’s eating experience nationally."
Sally’s Apizza is planning to roll out at other locations across the country. Rival Frank Pepe Pizzeria has expanded to 10 locations
"All people should be able to enjoy this truly unique and craveable pizza," says Aaron Allen, advisor and spokesperson of Lineage Hospitality. "That’s why Lineage is committed to working with the Consiglios to preserve its rich heritage and build it into a leading national pizza brand."
Sally’s has consistently been ranked as one of the best pizzerias in the state and the country. It landed number eight on the Daily Meal’s list of best pizza in America for 2017. Fellow New Haven pizzerias Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana and Modern Apizza ranked number one and three respectively.
